Sciria Station
Since the 15th of November 1978 the railway started to operate.
It allowed to transport the ore from Montevecchio to San Gavino Monreale, with significant reduction in transport costs: transport by train costed one fourth of traditional transport system by ox-drawn carts.
The narrow gauge line (1.05 m between the two rails) was 18.3 Km long. In addition to the ore the new railway was also used to transport all the materials that were used in the production activity of the Montevecchio mine.
The line was discontinued the 30th of March 1958 because it had become uneconomic.
